Between them the 10 terrible drivers have failed 55 tests, spent £50,000 on lessons, had one license revoked, and one road accident.

Now they find themselves gifted with a golden opportunity to put their appalling track records behind them by taking part in an intensive driving course at a specialist driving school led by some of the country’s leading instructors before sitting the test for hopefully one last time.

All the emotional drama is caught on camera as the students face their biggest driving fears – from reverse parking and observation, to driving at more than 60 mph.

And with them for every punishing turn of the wheel on the road to gaining a much-coveted license are the instructors. Tasked with whipping the students into shape are Tim Eden, an ex traffic cop, senior educator Neil Beeson, and Laurie Jane Taylor, a former drugs counselor who specializes in using psychology on her students.

Innovative and hi-tech tools are also used to meet the challenge of transforming the students from highway hazards to roadworthy. Resident psychologist Dr Lisa Dawn runs detailed personality tests on each of them to help them understand more about how they drive and they undergo computerized brain training to teach their eyes to spot potential danger.

Tim Eden says: "The reason I’m a driving instructor is to make people safer on the roads. Over 3,500 people a year are killed on roads because of bad driving decisions."

Laurie-Jane Taylor has been an instructor for only two years but already has an incredible 75 per cent pass rate.

She says: "It’s not just about how to put your foot on the gas peddle and go, and then be able to put your foot on the break and clutch and stop. There’s so much more to driving and if we want to make this place safe, you’ve got to get in the heads of these people."

As the learners begin to crack under pressure and make mistakes, Neil is quick to make them realise that fretting about a minor error may only lead to something much more serious.

"If while you’re worrying about a little mistake you make a bigger mistake - now that could be the end of the world," says Neil.

Last Chance Driving School reaches a tense and emotional climax as, after a week of intensive tutoring, the instructors decide who is ready to sit their test. None of the students know who faces the examiner first, and some feel they are far from ready, but can they overcome their fears once and for all and take control at the wheel?

Each programme is a story-telling treat, revealing the history of each garden, the horticultural excellence to be found there and the uniqueness of their location and environment. Presenter, Chris Beardshaw, a Gold Medal winner at Chelsea with extensive horticultural and garden design expertise, takes the viewer on a journey. He meets the people who own, work and cherish these gardens, discovering the hidden tales and gardening secrets they have at their fingertips.

From Brideshead Revisited to Oscar-winning film The Queen, and Sherlock Holmes to The Darling Buds Of May, the series looks at how Britain’s wealth of historic gardens have been used to conjure up some of our best-loved films and TV dramas.

In programme one, Castle Howard in Yorkshire: a house, garden and estate on a grand scale built to make a public statement of wealth, confidence and spectacle. It survives today, still owned by the Howard family and paying its way by opening its doors to the public and to film crews.

Famous as the location for the Granada production of Evelyn Waugh’s Brideshead Revisited where it became a character vital to the series in its own right. We go behind the scenes not of the production but of the garden itself, visiting the famous Atlas Fountain, Ray Wood, the demolished Temple of Venus built by Hawksmoor, the kitchen gardens and the vast waterway system that threads its way through the entire estate and garden. We meet along the way the gardeners and custodians responsible for maintaining the past and building for its future.

They uncover her portfolio and find her pictures were taken by a photographer by the name of ‘Slade’. Stuart and Jo soon track down Jeff Slade (Darren Day) who’s furious that someone has broken into his studio and smashed everything up.
However, back at the crime scene, Jo notices a photograph of Maria and her fiancé Darrell Crow (Ricky Nixon) – wearing the same t-shirt found at Slade's house. Later, when Lorna tells Jo that Maria’s skull had two abrasions, the detectives must work out which suspect provided the fatal blow…

The public face of royal ceremony, resplendent in bearskins and scarlet tunics, they stand guard outside Britain’s royal residences, most famously Buckingham Palace. But the Grenadier Guards are also the most senior infantry regiment in the British Army and they are also one of the oldest, celebrating their 350th anniversary last year.

To mark this milestone, Guarding the Queen will provide a rare behind the scenes insight into their journey from rookie recruits to carrying out important duties outside Buckingham Palace and on the front line.

Between December 2006 to June 2007 ITV cameras have exclusively followed the Nijmegen Company who form a key part of the Household Division of the Grenadier Guards. Their job at Wellington Barracks in London includes guarding both the Queen, and the Crown Jewels at The Tower of London. It is the first time the Grenadiers have been filmed in ten years.

In the first of this three part series, the Queen celebrates the 350th anniversary of the Grenadiers with a party at Windsor Castle. For commanding officer Colonel Carew Hatherley it’s a very proud moment.

"We’re carrying on 350 years of serving the monarchy – that’s ten kings and three queens. It’s part of the living history of Great Britain," he says.

But not all the guards are enjoying the party. Up in the Scottish highlands Captain Ollie Doherty is leading a group of trainee guardsmen on their final exercise in battlefield discipline – the climax of months of hard training. Of the 13 Grenadiers that started the course only four remain.

One of the four is Steven Cooper, and the programme cameras follow him on his passing out parade at the guards’ training depot in Catterick in Yorkshire –- and see how he settles into life at Wellington Barracks in London before taking part in his first guard change outside Buckingham Palace.

Regimental Adjutant Conway Seymour, a Grenadier for 42 years, says: "Of all the great heroes, there’s none that can compare with the British Grenadiers."

Today he is inducting two new musicians to the band regiment. The world famous pomp and ceremony of the changing of the guard wouldn’t be complete without the band of the Grenadier Guards. One of the new recruits is Abbey Davis – only the fifth woman to join the Grenadier Guards band.

After her 12 weeks of basic training she joins Wellington Barracks for her initiation into the band troop:

"It’s weird being in a proper army camp, all the army vehicles everywhere. I’m not used to seeing them," she says.

Band Sergeant Major Kevin Bird is responsible for getting the band into shape:

"I think for any musician that comes into this environment it’s going to be a very big challenge. When they audition first of all they’re expected to be of a certain standard. They will go through basic training and then they come to us so they could be anything from 18 months to two years in training before they come to us."

As new band recruit Abbey takes part in her first guard change, it is the last for Major Marcus Elliot-Square. He’s about to go to Afghanistan and returns back to his battalion for four months’ training to prepare to fight the Taliban.

For the last fourteen months Major Elliot-Square has commanded Nijmegen Company when the Grenadiers are on guard. After leaving his ceremonial duties he puts his company through live firing exercises in Northumberland on an assault across open ground. The company work alongside Afghans who are drafted in so the troops can get used to working through interpreters.

Best known for her role as Fallon in the hugely popular 80’s series, Emma plays dowdy housewife, Ella Winstanley, a far cry from the shoulder-pads and lipgloss synonymous with her former role.

Samms said, "This is the opposite end of the scale to a glamorous role, in fact, it's an exercise in discarding vanity, which is very liberating. It's a pleasure to work with so many lovely people, and there's no way I could not have taken the role as it's my mum's favourite programme!"

Emma’s on-screen husband is played by Stephen McGann, youngest of the famous acting brothers, who is concerned when his wife disappears. Sun Hill officers soon discover Ella kneeling beside an injured man with blood on her hands, and she is arrested for attempted murder.
Simon heads the judging panel and is joined by actress Amanda Holden and ex-journalist and author Piers Morgan. Their quest is to find Britain’s top talent and the only rules are that there are no rules!

Independent and courageous, Stone has his own moral code and strict sense of justice, he loves the uniform and the statement it makes. He is also happy to go that extra mile and sort the odd dispute in his own time as it gets him remembered and knows a favour in return might be needed as some point.

Stone is not afraid to be creative with the law - never for his own gain but always to deliver justice. Stone will get along with most of the officers at Sun Hill, especially the women, but Sergeant Smithy (Alex Walkinshaw) makes it clear he has a problem with Stone’s desire to go solo…

Sam says “I am extremely excited to be playing Sergeant Stone who is a terrific character and something I can really get my teeth into. He has an amazing storyline journey and I’m thrilled to be a part of it. I have already met a lot of the cast and crew through previous jobs so have managed to settle in quickly. Four former motocross champions and heroes will judge the competition and decide upon the much coveted title of 2007's Red Bull X-Fighter victor.

The judges' expertise will be scoring the contestants on such mind-boggling tricks as Supermans, Can Cans and Backflips, over four rounds. And according to Travis Pastrana, the sport's number one competitor for 2006, "Tricks that would have given you victory only two years ago will now only get you as far as the midfield."

All of the wheel spinning action on the tour's second leg can be caught on ITV4, Saturday 26th May. The second stage will take place at the historic Slane Castle, beside the banks of the River Boyne in Ireland.
Robson Green plays Will Crowe; a traumatised father and headmaster who is reeling from the shock discovery of his wife, Laura’s (Maggie O’Neill) affair with his best friend, Adrian (James Wilby). Also starring are Emily Joyce as Adrian’s long-suffering wife, and Katie and Phoebe Thomas as Will and Laura’s daughter, Jackie Crowe.

The highly charged drama follows the comedic highs and heartbreaking lows of Oliver’s well meaning but ultimately disastrous exploits with his best friend and partner-in-crime, Zoe (Chloe O’Sullivan).

"I always enjoy being part of a story that deals with relationships and the effect they can have on children," commented Robson. "How can ten-year-old Oliver keep his parents together after he discovers his dad’s best friend has slept with his mum? The consequences to this scenario are painful, sometimes ludicrously absurd, funny but most importantly life affirming. It was a joy working with James Wilby, Emily Joyce and of course, Maggie O’Neill who’s character in ‘Shameless’ was brilliant".

On Sunday Rob McAffrey and Chris Kamara brings you the action of Premiership and Championship football.

Quote from the sky sports site:
In the studio to help plough through the goals and give analysis on all of the big talking points will be new Brentford manager and former England centre-half Terry Butcher and Bolton's Welsh international midfielder Gary Speed.

Our foursome will look back on action from Stamford Bridge and Goodison Park where Chelsea could erase the three point gap between them and Manchester United at the top of the table as they host Bolton and United travel to take on Everton.

Points are at a premium at the bottom of the table as Wigan host West Ham United, Sheffield United host Watford and Charlton travel to Blackburn

In the Championship, the unthinkable could happen to Leeds United as they could be relegated to the third tier of English football, League One, for their first time in their history if they lose to Ipswich at Elland Road and Hull beat Cardiff on the road.
